Bed bugs are a resurging problem worldwide, causing property loss, expense, and inconvenience. The good news is that bed bugs do not transmit disease. The best way to prevent bed bugs is regular inspection for signs of an infestation.
Bed bugs are generally found in private homes, hotels, resorts, apartment complexes and communal living facilities. The are often found within 8 to 10 feet from a bed. They are very good at hiding but can be found in the crevices of head boards, mattresses, box springs, and night stands.
Bed bugs are commonly introduced via infested luggage, used furniture or clothing, and other items from a previously infested area.

Bed bugs bite to feed on the host’s blood, however, they are not known to spread any diseases. Reactions to a bite range from mild itching to red welts of various sizes. There is also a possibility of allergic reaction.
Bed bugs can also cause anxiety and insomnia. There have been instances where those suffering from bed bug infestation went to drastic measures to try to stop the itching and get some rest.
